Long- and short term outcomes of patients with coronary artery disease in Guilan province (study protocol of Coronary artery diseases Heshmat registry (CADHER) and follow-up
A lot of research has been designed and conducted on the factors affecting the incidence, etiology, and prognosis of cardiovascular diseases, especially Coronary Artery Disease (CAD). However, only a small number of studies have been performed to specifically examine the predictors of angiographic diagnosis or severity of CAD in high populations. In addition, due to the importance of risk factors related to genetic, geographical and environmental factors in each region in causing cardiovascular disease, the lack of a specific database of these patients in Guilan province has led to some limitations in the identification of risk factors associated with coronary artery disease.
As a result, the Cardiovascular Diseases Research Center of Guilan University of Medical Sciences has launched a project in with the aim of setting up a registration and follow-up center on patients with coronary artery disease referred to Heshmat Hospital for angiography, which is called Coronary Artery Diseases Heshmat Registry (CADHER). This center has been established to conduct extensive studies to identify risk factors for chronic cardiovascular disease, dietary pattern, serum parameters, cardiovascular risk factors, ECG results, echocardiography and angiography and other related factors. Furthermore, these studies will ultimately be effective in improving the quality of life of patients with cardiovascular risk factors.
The main objective of this comprehensive study is to gain more insight into the set of risk factors, the predictive value of these factors and their relationship with the diagnosis and severity of CAD in patients undergoing angiography referred to Heshmat Hospital.
Finally, in the future, this program will provide the possibility of making comparisons between data obtained from the patients who referred to the Cardiac Reference Hospital in Guilan Province and other studies and registries in the country.
