PastoCovac, joint Vaccine of Iran and Cuba
According to Webda, Reynaldo García Zapata, the mayor of Havana (the capital of Cuba), met Dr. Mohammad Hossein Niknam, the special assistant to the Minister of Health and the general director of the international cooperation of the ministry.
Dr. Niknam said the Ministry of Health is the head of the joint economic commission between Iran and Cuba. This means that in addition to health, the responsibility for relations with Cuba in all fields lies with the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education.
The Director General of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Health said that relations between Iran and Cuba have been strong and friendly and economic cooperation can be established on a larger scale.
Dr. Niknam noted that we delivered oil to Cuba in spite of all difficulties, and Cuba is interested in expanding relations with Iran in the field of oil and energy.
Referring to the cooperation between Iran and Cuba in the field of health and medicine, he said that biotechnology is one of the important capabilities of Cuba, and we have been cooperating and communicating in this field for a long time.
The General Director of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education pointed to the cooperation between Iran and Cuba in dealing with the Corona Pandemic and called the production of the joint vaccine of PastoCovac as one of the important achievements of the two countries.
Dr. Niknam added that the two countries can benefit from the good political and cultural background between the two countries in economic fields as well.
