Astrakhan State University together with the Journal of Frontier Studies invites you to take part in the international scientific conference "Astrakhan Petrovsky Readings – 2021: Peter the Great and Imperial practices of the Frontier space", which will be held on November 23-24, 2021 in Astrakhan.

The discussions are supposed to be held in these thematic areas:

◆ Frontier and Empire: general issues of regional and national construction;

◆ The Russian Empire and the World: centrifugal and centripetal directions of Russia's development;

◆ Empire: disproportions of monoculture and multiculturalism;

◆ Meeting with a Stranger on the frontiers;

◆ State policy in peripheral territories;

◆ 'Homo Impericus’ (imperatoria hominem) is an epistemological construct of modernity or a builder of a new world on the frontiers;

◆ Successes and defeats of the new imperial construction strategy.
