Guilan Road Trauma Research Center (GRTRC) was founded in 2004 by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education. The center obtained primary approval from the ministry on February 19, 2011, and final approval on September 6, 2015. GRTRC has six founding members, all of whom are faculty members of the GUMS. Moreover, more than 30 faculty members cooperate with this center. GRTRC has provided epidemiologic and statistical consultations which have increased the affiliated publications four times more than that in previous years. One of the prominent ongoing projects developed by GRTRC is the launch and deployment of the pilot trauma system in Guilan province.
