The Faculty of Health started working in 1996 with the admission of students in the associate degree of Environmental Health and Family Health under the name of Rasht Health School. In 1997, the field of Public Health in the associate degree was added to the faculty. The bachelor's degree in Environmental Health was added to the faculty in 2004. In 2006, the associate  degree in Occupational Health was added to the faculty and the joint group of Environmental and Occupational Health was officially established. In 2009, a bachelor's degree in Environmental Health was added to the faculty courses and it was agreed to accept a bachelor's degree student in Occupational Health. In 2010, a  bachelor's degree in Public Health was added to the fields. The latest educational development of the faculty is the agreement for the admission of students in the master's degree for two fields of Health and Environmental Health in 2011 and the agreement for the admission of students in the bachelor's degree of Occupational Health in 2012. Currently, the total number of staff at the School of Health is 52, including 37 employees and 14 faculty members, and about 430 students in four disciplines and two bachelor's degrees (Environmental Health Engineering, Occupational  Health Engineering and Public Health) and master's  degree Health and Environmental Health Engineering)  are studying in this college.

Dr. Einollahi at the meeting of Eastern Mediterranean Health Ministers

In order to strengthen health diplomacy and regional health cooperation, Dr. Einollahi attended the World Health Organization meeting of the Eastern Mediterranean Health Ministers in Egypt.

 

Webda reports, upon his arrival in Cairo, Dr. Bahram Einollahi announced the expansion of health cooperation. He added, “This meeting is a good opportunity to strengthen health diplomacy, decision-making and regulation of health policies between the 22 member countries of the Eastern Mediterranean region of the World Health Organization”.

In this meeting, about 30 common issues will be discussed and reviewed, in which the experts of The Ministry of Health are actively present and participating.

 

Dr. Bahram Einollahi noted that the main topics of this meeting are dedicated to the control of communicable and non-communicable diseases; Because communicable diseases are still the main problem in some of our neighboring countries.

 

He also added, “The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to transfer successful experiences in the field of medical advances and fighting diseases to other member countries of the Eastern Mediterranean Office of the World Health Organization.”

 

On the first day of this meeting, Dr. Bahram Einollahi met and talked with Dr. Ahmad Al Manzari, the head of the Eastern Mediterranean Region of the World Health Organization and the Minister of Health of Pakistan.
