Dr. Shahrokh Yousefzadeh-Chabok (1963, Chabaksar) completed his studies in the neurosurgery field at Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, Iran. He has performed much research on brain and skull base tumors, neuroendoscopy of pituitary tumors, brain neuroendoscopy, and complex spinal cord surgeries. Yosufzadeh-Chabek was the director of Poursina Hospital from 2004 to 2012, the main center for trauma referrals in Guilan Province in northern Iran. He established the Guilan Road Trauma Research Center (GRTRC) in 2002 specializing in road trauma in the country with the aim of developing a trauma system as the only practical solution to reduce traffic accidents in Iran. The trauma system plan has been localized by using the current models used in developing countries, intending to solve one of the biggest health problems in the country i.e. road accidents that threaten thousands of lives. The efforts made by Yousefzadeh-Chabok and his colleagues in this center have led to a decrease in traffic incidents in recent years.

Dr. Yousefzadeh is also a member of the Board of the Neurological Society of Iran. Too much interested in scientific and educational activities, Dr. Yousefzadeh-Chabek is the editor-in-chief of the Iranian Journal of Neurosurgery affiliated with the Neurosurgical Society of Iran with the help of his colleagues at GRTRC. He also established the neurosurgery residency training course in Poursina Hospital, GUMS in 2009. From 2010 to 2021, he was elected as a member of the specialized board of neurosurgery in the country by the Ministry of Health. He served as the chancellor of Guilan University of Medical Sciences from March 2014 to July 2018.
